Neena Gupta To Reunite With Amitabh Bachchan For Sooraj Barjatya’s Next
After sharing screen with Amitabh Bachchan in Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye, Neena Gupta will team up with the Big B again for Sooraj Barjatya’s next directorial
Ever since the success of the 2018 family comedy Badhaai Ho, also featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Surekha Sikri and Gajraj Rao, veteran actress Neena Gupta has seen a tremendous boom in her film career. The actress has since been seen having meaty parts in Kangana Ranaut’s Panga, Ayushmann’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Arjun and Rakul Preet Singh’s Sardar Ka Grandson and this month’s release Dial 100 with Manoj Bajpayee and Sakshi Tanwar.
In her upcoming line up too, Neena has a big project in Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye that pairs her opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna and Pavail Gulati. But seems like before even the film has been released, Neena is all set to reunite with the Big B in another project.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor duo will be seen together in Sooraj Barjatya’s next directorial, Oonchai. The film is set against the backdrop of friendship and also features Boman Irani and Anupam Kher. Known for his directorial about family drama, this will mark Sooraj’s foray into telling an emotional tale of friendship.
Big B, Neena, Anupam and Boman will be seen as best friends in the film, and according to the report there is a strong buzz of Pankaj Tripathi also being in talks for the film. “The cast comprises many more senior actors. It’s one of the biggest ensembles in recent times, and Sooraj Barjatya is planning to start shooting soon and bring it only in theatres in the second half of next year,” the report added.
This film will mark Sooraj’s seventh directorial after Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Vivah and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. After Oonchai, Sooraj is expected to get on to his next directorial with Salman Khan that is touted to be a love story of a married couple in a nuclear family.
